Just picked 20# of apricots and #3 of yellow peaches. Canning most of the apricots tomorrow. Setting aside a couple of #s of the apricots w/the peaches just for eating.

Despite early warnings that it would be delayed, cherry picking is in full swing during its traditional start during the Memorial Day weekend.
The u-pick lots were all full early today as I drove around to see what (or more accurately) wasn't available the Farmer's Market and local food stands.
But, be forwarned, despite predictions that this would be a "bumper crop" for cherries, prices are really HIGH at $5-6//b, which would put u-pick prices at around $4/lb.
I've still got way too many cherries that I preserved from last year, so I'm not going picking this year. Besides, I can already buy cherries at local supermarkets for $3.
But for those who target Memorial Day for a family cherry picking outing, NOW is the time to drive out to Brentwood and grab as many as you can afford.
