xcompmgr плохо дружит с rofi и с задержкой обрабатывает плавные анимции

compton делает прозрачными не только обычные окна, но и вспывающие (В том числе и rofi, betterlockscreen, xfce4-lockscreen (Или как его там)(из-за этого я вижу, что ЗА экраном блокировки)

А picom просто жрёт много цпу и плохо работает на видеокарте...

Isn't there a trick with picom to get rid of the sharp black corners that show up in rounded gtk context menus? I could swear using a compositor used to fix that, maybe I'm misremembering.

eterm war IIRC das einzige das damals (Pseudo) Transparente Fenster kannte. Dann kam rxvt-unicode mit echten transparenten Fenster und schließlich nach langer Zeit dann alacritty. Als compositor nutze ich unter #XFCE derzeit #picom früher nahm ich #compton

@enron I do daily drive #sway too, is amazing that no extra configuration needed in it. But some stuff made me stick to #X11, for which I'm wondering about comps.
I've already tried #picom #vsync solution, but it has very poor performance & stutter everywhere...

I've been fighting against tearing from an Intel HD Graphics 620 iGPU, on #Linux with #Xorg. After trying recommended options like TearFree and TripleBuffer, intel and modesetting drivers, even #Xcompmgr, nothing would solve it. #Wayland, on the other hand, works tearfree out of the box. Finally, I tried #Picom on X, a fork of a fork of a fork of Xcompmgr, and it worked! Its #vsync option, enabled by default, does the trick.

Just learned today that #picom, a fork of #compton, licensed all their additions since the fork with #copyleft (MPL-2.0) license. Well, so much for keeping my #BSD system copyleft-free, unless I stick to the original unmaintained version...

tuve que quitar el picom 😒

Cool – I haven't run into many people using #ratpoison. I'm mostly familiar with it as the window manager that inspired the WM I use (#stumpwm). I take it you're a fan?

And I'd never heard of #picom, so I learned something new today. It looks like it's mostly a way to add transparency to windows without needing that built into the WM?
