The framing revolution @ #NationalGallery continues. It kicked off in 2005 with the appointment of Peter Schade as Head of the Framing. The planets truly aligned in 2008 under the Directorship of Nicolas Penny. Their collective desire to display paintings in as contemporary a frame as possible has transformed the gallery.

The recent Raphael exhibition contained a stunning example of this philosophy.
