Spying on Fiadh through a hole in a Hagstone.
Hagstones are stones with naturally occurring holes in them. They can be caused by a number of different erosive acctions but this one was most likely made by a "Piddock" - a type of marine bivalve that lives in burrows it makes in suitable rock types.

A "surprised" looking piece of shale.
Rock burrowing bivalves called Piddocks bore holes in the soft shale layers along the coastline.
