I had a wonderful photoshoot with a Pied Wagtail at the weekend.

While they were quite skittish and active I found that if I just set up and sat in one spot they’d often come to me. I took a lot of photos but found this to be one of the better ones.

They are such beautiful birds!!

Wishing everyone a peaceful Christmas from me, Delilah Mog and this pied wagtail who decided to visit the yard garden today. Delighted to see it because it's the first I've seen in the garden since 2018. I hope it'll be back. The photo was taken through my mucky kitchen window so apologies for quality. The cat and I are having a quiet day which is just what we both need. What are you up to?

Spotted this pretty little pied wagtail on our bird table the other day, obviously in the process of fattening up for winter. In the picture, he has paused his feeding and appears to be considering Life, the Universe and Everything.

Although it looks perfectly healthy, I think there's something wrong with this Pied wagtail's legs/feet, as it only ever flies from spot to spot and, when still, sits directly on the ground as it is in this photo. The good news is that it seems perfectly able to feed and live a normal life.
