Doing a little testing with #Privoxy, and #AdGuard's DNS servers https://adguard-dns.io/en/public-dns.html (the latter in lieu of a #PiHole server later).

No way to configure #tvOS to use a proxy (did I miss it?) but custom DNS servers was easy & appears to have had the immediate effect of removing ads on #Peacock and #ParamountPlus. I guess #Hulu is avoiding recognizable ad-servers?

Mon aîné vient de faire sa rentrée en 5ème et de gagner le droit à un smartphone qui marche, avec un vrai forfait internet (mini-mini)

Bien sûr, on a dégooglisé sa bécane, en mettant #eOS, et en prime on filtre pubs et contenus inadaptés via un combo #PiHole + #VPN (en lui expliquant le pourquoi du comment).

Concernant son #TDAH, connaîtriez-vous des applications susceptibles de lui faciliter la vie au quotidien?

@meldrian Ausm Bauch heraus würde ich den Zusammenhang bestätigen. Gefühlt ist bei Freunden und Verwandten der Akku schneller leer. Auch ohne eskalierende Betrachtung von Fotos/Videos etc. geht einem der Saft schneller aus. Bei meiner Freundin mehr als bei mir, hab aber auch kein #Pinterest, #Facebook usw. Zudem läuft bei mir #netguard und das blockt auch so einiges an Aktivität weg.

Die #PiHole-Quote liegt hier bei 50%.

Mein Akku am Smartphone hält kurioserweise deutlich länger als vor ein paar Wochen.
Abends um 22 Uhr hänge ich das Gerät an den Strom und denke "noch 40%? Normalerweise gammelt das Teil doch schon seit einer Stunde im Energiesparmodus."
Eben fiel es mir wie Schuppen von den Augen... mein #Pihole ist seit 20 Tagen Online & filtert fleißig vor sich hin. Theoretisch hat #adaway seither sehr wenig zu tun, verursacht weniger Last, verbraucht weniger Akku...?
Wunschdenken oder möglich, was meint ihr?

MULTILAYERED CONUNDRA (my new math-rock band name?): I don’t want FB or Twitter to ever have the opportunity to fingerprint my browser, so I use(d?) #PiHole to block at the DNS level. But Firefox’s DOH (which I’m otherwise fine with) skips the PiHole by design… and if I’m not on #Firefox, the #iCloud+ Private Relay service skips it also. All by design, and with their own benefits, but… what do? I don’t want those domains to resolve, period!

@wutti bei mir sind es auch immer zwischen 43 und 45 Mio. Domains in der Blockliste vom #PiHole. Läuft problemlos mit ca. 25 % Blockrate.

Mal schauen ob nun überhaupt noch was geht 🤪 #PiHole

Il test di ieri era nato, per puro caso, sul PC connesso alla VPN aziendale, mentre quello di oggi l'ho fatto dalla mia rete standard. La differenza è che nella mia rete i DNS passano su #PiHole quindi credo che buona parte degli oggetti non arrivassero proprio al mio browser.

Einen #AdBlocker zu verwenden, ist nicht nur eine Maßnahme für den #Datenschutz. Vielmehr ist es aktiver #Umweltschutz - bei mir werden über 35% des Traffics durch #pihole geblockt. Alles Daten, die nicht übertragen wurden und damit keinen #Strom verbrauchten.

So this weekend I think I will do a few tech related things:

1) set up #pihole on a Raspberry Pi Zero W that I have laying around

2) move my main pc from #Debian Stable to #Sid

3) More #Neofetch customizations (more likely in my main pc and #Rockpro64)

@jskeletti Ich hatte damals einfach das übernommen, was beim #PiHole mitgeliefert wurde, und es gab keine Beschwerden. (Wobei Desktop-Browser hier auch zusätzlich uBlock origin verwenden.)
