La página de reconocimiento facial #PimEyes ha estado reforzando su base de datos con imágenes de difuntos que no pueden dar consentimiento.
Si no tienes nada que esconder no te importará que profanen tu cadáver... 🙄

A Face Recognition Site Crawled the Web for Dead People’s Photos
PimEyes appears to have scraped a major ancestry website for pics, without permission. Experts fear the images could be used to identify living relatives.

I fed my #profile to #ChatGPT and I think it has me pegged.

I like how it slipped in the #nudes hashtag at the end. Nice SEO shenanigans there #ChatGPT.

Interesting. #PimEyes, #TinEye, and Google Image search all fail to find other pictures of me when prompted with one of the ones that #MidJourney colored over. Even though there's not a huge difference between the altered ones and the originals I used as prompts. Neat.
I used to run a #data #privacy workshop, and to demonstrate the impact of poor practices (both of companies and individuals) I'd pick the first (non-minor) girl that popped up when searching #Twitter for #selfie or #nofilter, then find out everything interesting that I could over the course of the following 10 minutes.
After the timer went off, I'd usually say something along the lines of,
"Now that we know [list of info] about [name], let's plan our first get-together! Should we pick them up from [work/school] or just drop by their place?"

Update: dang this post is getting too long, so I'm going to cut a bunch and just jump to the links and a couple tips.
If you're interested in this stuff (and you don't smell like a creep), feel free to ask me anything—I'm always happy to help if I can.
Now back to the post.

Here are some lovely people-finder sites you don't want to be on:
https://beebom.com/best-people-search-engines/
People sites like the ones in the above link are usually a pain in the butt to get yourself removed from. They'll often ask you for all your info before allowing you to remove any of it—some require you to upload a picture of your ID (fuck that).
A reasonable counter-measure against these sites is disinformation. If you show up on them, take a minute to "update their records" if you can. If you have writer's block, use a site like https://www.fakenamegenerator.com/ to make shit up.
List of face-search sites you don't want to be on:
https://www.makeuseof.com/tag/3-fascinating-search-engines-search-faces/
If you find yourself on a site like #PimEyes, #TinEye, #FaceCheck, etc, ask to be removed. Also, don't use any image of yourself that isn't already public knowledge in order to see if you're on the site—you're just giving them a new reference point.
The same ideas help as counter-measures for people search sites too: disinformation and distortion.
It's also worth checking out https://support.google.com/websearch/troubleshooter/3111061?hl=en if you need to make things like #revengeporn, #doxxed records, and other sensitive information harder for people to stumble across.
In closing, I'll leave you with a quote:
"Of the [346 victim services] programs that responded, 97% indicated that victims who seek their services are being harassed, monitored, and threatened by offenders misusing technology. The majority of survey respondents were domestic violence and sexual assault programs (88%)."

Mal sehen. https://netzpolitik.org/2022/pimeyes-ceo-der-mensch-ist-der-stalker-nicht-die-suchmaschine/
