Thanks to a concerted effort over the past few weeks, my untagged bookmarks on #Pinboard are down from around 4000 to under 800 and falling. This gives me great satisfaction.

I’ve said it before and I say it again #Pinboard + @pins is superior to #Pocket

Using #Pinboard combined with @pins is the best bookmarking/“read later” experience.

Pinboard is cheap and reliable, and you’re supporting an independent developer.

Pins is free. Premium is not too expensive, especially considering it’s a one-time purchase, not a subscription.

Also. Pins’ share sheet far exceeds Pocket’s

I had over 4k untagged links on my #Pinboard as of this morning. Leaving aside how many of those are just mirrored RTs from my former Twitter account (and it's not as many as one would think), that's...a lot of tagging to do. But who loves #archiving internet content more than I?

Call the #Pinboard API at build time, coerce the response into an RSS feed (https://coryd.dev/links.xml), transform it into JSON and then aggregate it into an @eleventy follow feed (https://coryd.dev/follow.json), have GitHub check the follow feed and post stuff occasionally (but only if it's public and tagged `share`).

In my search for a #Pinboard alternative I found #Linkding, and it looks *almost* exactly what I was looking for.

It's only semi-social (closed/friends-only), could need an option for public access, and various tweaks here and there – but it’s very hackable (#Django, #Python, #svelte, #SQLite)
