Today a #PINE64 #STAR64 joined my SoC family.

The #yocto image worked out of the box and offers a standard #linux desktop feeling.

Performance is like on #raspberry PI 4. It runs simple stuff well, but heavy browser content slows down the whole device.
Yes, there are some software bugs, but that thing is new, and I'm sure improvements will come soon.

I'm thrilled about the arrival of RISC-V in the customer market, because we need more diversity in technology.

The #ox64 was a nice idea, but as always, no proper vendor support. Nice specs on paper with all kinds of hardware, but nothing is supported. Sigh. #pine64

Does the pine time have any benefits if you dont enable bluetooth and have it connected to a phone? I know i wouldn't get notifications, but do other things work like heart rate, steps, clock etc, without being connected to the phone? periodic connections would be fine i just don't want to have Bluetooth on all the time.

Question for any Pinetime by @PINE64 users. I'm connected using Gadgetbridge on Android and I've got weather information being displayed on the watch via Breezy Weather. Is Infinitime able to show conditions in F° instead of C°? I can't seem to find an option or any information on how to change this or if it's even possible. The weather display feature isn't really useful to me in C°

Another Week - Another new image for #pinetabv (and #star64) - Kernel Version Bumps, Package Bumps in this release. Also, last actual release for PtV for a while, as now the images can be upgraded via "apt upgrade" online.
Major Changes for PtV include sound (enable it in settings), a updated kernel version 5.15.127 with the latest Starfive Vendor patches, improved EMMC performance, and a few thousand additional packages available via apt!

I ordered a product 46 days ago and soon received a notice that it had shipped. When tracking said it hadn't moved from China for over a week, I tried to learn why. I still don't have it or know when, or if, I will get it.

I cannot get answers from Pine64. I have tried using a support ticket and they were useless about shipping-- and fobbed me off to sales, I have tried writing to sales 3 times and I have tried contacting them via Mastodon but have had no contact from either. I'm frustrated and disappointed.

I can't for the life of my figure out how to type a hyphen ( - ) on my #pine64 keyboard case. Anyone? #linux #pinephone

And yes, I know it should be Fn+F9. But that does nothing. Also AltGr doesn't seem to work. What am I doing wrong?
