Oh, an anecdote. I remember rendering a particular scene in the #PovRay raytracer on that machine circa 1995.
The resolution was somewhere between 640x480 and 1024x768, inclusive.
It took a WEEK to render the scene (drums with a kind of plasma background).

I tried it out on my relatively week ARM #PinebookPro and it rendered at 1080p in like three seconds. XD XD XD

@benjaminhollon @RL_Dane put away #PineBookPro disabled (not suspended) and try to start it on the battery after a week 😩🙈

@laaspher @diesch USB-C kann auch mehr als 5 Volt. Dein Laptop lädt sicher nicht mit 5V (das kann meines Wissens nach nur das @PINE64 #PinebookPro), sondern sagt der Buchse, dass sie 20V ausgeben soll (das geht mit USB-C). Problem dabei ist, dass es noch mehr Angriffsfläche bietet, weil auch Daten übertragen werden können. Gibt einige Reporte über 'hackende' öffentliche USB-Buchsen...

@ukscone Hahaha. I've obvs my ThinkPad and my #PineBookPro a random Toshiba laptop for testing stuff on. I've also 2 pi 4's as servers and a full blown server too. Oh lets not forget my #Pinephone and #PinephonePro and my #OnePlus6 and 6T 😂
I even bought a Pico just so I could build my own TKL board with oled running on kmk. I just can't help myself.

I can live with sudo not being installed by default, but trying to get polkit and all those moving parts working is a bit above my pay grade right now. I really need to get some more time to delve into it.

I also need to troubleshoot my #PinebookPro. It's suddenly not able to get online, even through it's on the wifi and has grabbed an ip. I can't even ping the router, and the firewall's off.

Finally took some time to bust out the @PINE64 #pinebookpro and have some fun! I'd planned on flashing #nixos onto it, but everything I'd book from the image on my NVMe, I'd go through the whole rebuild and switch but it continued failing to boot into the new build... 🤔

Next best option, fresh install an #archlinux based system with great development record for the PBP, #manjaro , and manage everything with #nix. Turns out option #2 is still pretty awesome! 😎🤘 :manjaro: :nixos: #linux

Well, I had never messed with #Fedora before now and even with the #Redhat fiasco I decided to play with it a bit. I've got a KDE Spin installed to the NVME in my pinebook pro. So far it's a very nice distro. #pine64 #pinebookpro

Now my #pinebookpro is kinda "production ready" (I can even do work stuff on it with the citrix receiver arm technology preview version) I need a new project. Leaning towards buying a used Lenovo T480, heard they're great for running Linux and will hopefully have a little more oomph than the PBP. #linux #lenovo #pine64

My not so scientific method shows that my PineBook Pro discharges at 6% per hour when in suspend mode. That's... Not great. But then again, I'm super spoiled by my M1 MacBook. #pinebookpro

My only remaining major gripe with the #pinebookpro is the touchpad. It's doable but don't expect any accuracy or precision (add to that I'm spoiled using a MacBook) - but that's nothing an external mouse won't fix.

After a morning of tinkering and tweaking with the PBP, on full brightness, using wifi and bluetooth, I now have 60% of battery left. That's not bad considering you can charge it with almost every USB-C charger. #pinebookpro

I have 3 laptops that now need new distros, for one reason or another. I'm going to install Arch on my #Entroware Athena and Debian 12 on my #PinebookPro.

What would be a good 3rd base distro to install onto my #GalagoPro?

I'd like to #challenge myself to live in a different parent distro from the primary branches, on my main machines.
