This plastic takes a lot of airball hits thanks to the jump ramp next to it. I'll glue it onto a sheet of transparent polycarbonate. #pinball #pinrepair
Williams WPC platform board set in all of its beauty. My favorite era and platform, insane amount of heavy hitters were made with this set. This is the '94 WPC Security variant.
If you're scratching your head, this is what runs a pinball machine from the 90s.

Red looks a bit disturbing without her face. But look at that tiny coil in the 2nd picture. It's so fried the coil wrapper has changed color! These coils are gonna be fun to source. Also, I wonder if the drive transistor is shorted. #pinball #pinrepair
Well, I'll be damned. I threw in one of the 3D printed gears I made and would you look at that! Red's blabbering again!
This is still a test piece made of PLA, but in the end I managed to make a replacement part from scratch and learned a lot on the way.

I had a Heureca! moment with the randomly acting up Groot motor today. The motor started to malfunction at the same time as the lights started to flicker. I didn't immediately see the connection, but it's actually the last part of the chain, starting from Node board 8 and downstream from the point where a bad connector caused issues. #pinball #pinrepair
I followed the string of LED boards to this connector. The pins were dirty as hell, I cleaned the connector and would you look at that, the issue went away. If this repeats, I may need to reflow the solder and replace the female conenctor. #pinball #pinrepair
Red's jaw tended to lock up at random in Road Show. The issue was pretty clear. I had bought a replacement gear, but much to my surprise it didn't fit, it was about 0.4mm too big and the motor didn't run right with it installed. I'm pondering if I should just file it down, or model it and print it out of nylon. #pinball #pinrepair
Mousin' Around was reported to have a slighly powerless right flipper. EOS switches and flipper button switches had slight signs of arcing, so I filed them all. On the next flipper rebuild I'm also going to add WPC styled return springs like I did with Big Guns. #pinball #pinrepair
NBA Fastbreak returns to the lineup. My Snapmaker was busy 3D printing, so I freehanded the broken plastic piece out of polycarbonate with a dremel tool. Not pretty, but it'll last. It's a lot thicker than the original. Also a new ball, this time out of PETG. #pinball #pinrepair
Looks like this Klingon ship got a fatal hit. I noticed the insert being a bit sunken and sure enough, the glue had failed. Time to glue it again and touch up the playfield. #pinball #pinrepair
This is a mod we made for NBAFB some years ago. The flimsy plastic supports are replaced with metal ones. A lot of the originals had already snapped. #pinball #pinrepair
Here's how FastBreak's backbox hoops game looks with the backglass and translite removed. Here's also the reason it was taken down for service: a plastic had snapped and needs a replacement. #pinball #pinrepair
I put the boards back in the game and now both sides of the ramp signs work again. #pinball #pinrepair
My pal Markus from Tilt Flipperihalli arcade sent me this one. He bought a new game and found this marvellous duct taped together battery pack inside! Not for the faint of heart! #pinball #pinrepair #electronics

Super fast and flashy classic with an awesome 80s theme. So glad we got this resurrected! #pinball #pinrepair #arcade
Here's part of the carnage that resulted from the wrongly installed diode. It blew through two transistors, including this pretransitor that got blown literally apart and then killed up upstream gate chip too. #pinball #pinrepair
After cleaning up the carnage after the backwards installed diode, the game appears to be mostly functional now. #pinball #pinrepair
I'm digging through all the things I've found to be wrong in this F-14. Can you spot the issue? #pinball #pinrepair
FFS with these sugar cube hacks. People, you can solder 2 pieces to wire together! #pinball #pinrepair
The replacement for the F-14's dead chip arrived and is now in it's socket. I'm going to put the game back together tomorrow and see what happens. #pinball #pinrepair
