Great work @luckkerr on #Pipilo - it’s definitely a different take that’s for sure, but kinda refreshing and simple to use too. I’m intrigued to see how it evolves 😁

So I am writing this on the fourth application that I download on my iPhone #iOS , this application us called #Pipilo and let’s see what it has to offer. Honestly I figured out quickly that there is no one perfect App for Mastodon so I ended up using a mix of three for their “best” features.

Accidentally made a funny visual bug in #Pipilo app and now I am wondering whether I should turn it into intended behavior.

0.22 of #Pipilo for Mastodon and Fediverse on #iOS is out with autocompletion suggestions and hashtag timelines.
Type in # or @ characters and suggestions will start appearing as you type. Tap on hashtags in posts to open separate screen with posts that included this hashtag. From there you can also follow/unfollow hashtags.

Almost ready with next #Pipilo update. Added featured tags to user profiles. You can tap on them to view all posts from that user with selected hashtag.

One nice benefit of horizontally scrolling timeline is that long posts don't need to be truncated. But perhaps I should group or hide link previews somehow if there is a lot of them?

For some unknown reason next #Pipilo update with user profiles is stuck waiting in TestFlight review for few days already… So in the meantime I already started work on next update by adding username autocompletion.

Inspired by @IceCubesApp as I like how this feature looks here.

Last feature of the upcoming user profiles #Pipilo update is multi window support on iPad. Now time for some polishing, bug fixing and hopefully it’ll be released soon.

Slowly continuing work on user profiles in #Pipilo. This time I added sticky header images to make the screen feel a bit more alive and personalized.

Perhaps another improvement could be to extract primary color from these images to style accent color?

Experimenting a bit with design of user profile fields in #Pipilo. Reusing “link preview cards” from posts to handle link fields seems to look good for me. Especially if people have mixed link and regular text fields.

User profiles in #Pipilo will stay true to the core idea of the app. Here too you will be able to horizontally navigate through posts.

For the next update of #Pipilo I’m working on user profiles and am thinking about what to include here. Are there any features that you would like to see? Or perhaps one of other apps has a design you really like that is worth taking inspiration from?

0.20.0 of #Pipilo for Mastodon on #iOS is out with accessibility improvements to make the app work better with VoiceOver/VoiceControl.

Additionally the app now handles descriptions of images. You can view them from timeline or add own descriptions when creating posts.

Finally if the app detects that there is a link to another post it’ll render it as “quote post” with all details immediately visible.

Me tope con una nueva app para mastodon en iOS. Se llama #Pipilo es un algo curiosa, deslizas a los lados y te muestra un toot a la vez (con sus respuestas si tiene) …ideal para el chismecito por que puedes ver todo el hilo si te topas con una respuesta que te cause curiosidad.
