The question of if non-hierarchical societies existed or not is irrelevant, the in all likelihood did exist, but that we as a species can choose to create one today, or tomorrow, it is a choice that we have, and it solves a great many problems with our world today.

Just finished Pirate Enlightenment by David Graeber. Such a playful and inquisitive book, everything you'd expect from him, and deeply, deeply interesting, particularly the parts about Malagasy women and their substantial commercial and sexual agency through their 'love magic' (ody fitia)

Took a short break from #TheCultureSeries to read #Graeber 's #PirateEnlightenment.
It's about figuring out the truth behind the Pirate Utopia myths of Madagascar, as well as the confused Europeans and con artists that spread them.

This made me chuckle, reading Pirate Enlightenment by David Graeber.

Just discovered that #DavidGraeber’s final book was on #PirateEnlightenment and this instantly goes onto my wishlist.
