I’m happy to finally present our new paper “The evolution of future Antarctic surface melt using PISM-dEBM-simple”!
We use the #PISM_model to take a look at how surface melting of the #AntarcticIceSheet changes under future #GlobalWarming.

Yes, it is cold in Antarctica. But nonetheless, even at temps below zero, snow and ice at the surface can melt due to the available energy from the sun. This contribution is almost negligible today, but could increase enormously (up to 10-fold) in future.
