How does experimental #fluiddynamics work?
You put particles in a fluid, here water in a stirred tank. For Particle Image Velocimetry #PIV you use a lens to create a laser sheet that illuminates the particles. Then you record the movement of the illuminated particles.

This is a problem if you use the #laser based #fluiddynamics measurement technique #PIV in multiphase system. The laser light can be reflected from the #bubble surface and be redirected into your camera which can cause damage.
