I started this the other night and thought it would only take a hour or two but boy was I wrong!

Adding dark mode support is tedious, but on the bright side it's identified a few bugs!

Direct Messages for example will properly honour line breaks, fix messages with text + media, allow you to delete/mute conversations and more, across the webUI and our mobile apps, in the next release. #pixeldev

While I was working on the redesigned #pixelfedApp discover page, I found that the trending hashtags api returned tags like nsfw, ass, nude, etc.

Direct Messages still use the old UI, we've been working on a Metro 2.0 design optimized for both desktop or mobile browsers and light or dark mode!

Also we included a privacy warning similar to Mastodon!

We're looking into encrypted direct messages and look forward to working with other projects on this important endeavour!
