Traveling with two different slates, Android 13 vs Windows 11 on ARM, it's really fun to play with both portable slate computers.
Makes me crazy how little you see about performance and practical use from reviewers. Both of these could easily replace laptops for the right consumers.

The case for my Pixel Tablet is supposed to arrive tomorrow. I just dropped it about four feet off the dock trying to hold a keyboard shortcut and take a screenshot with the power and volume buttons. Hello, ding in the aluminum! 🥲

Oh yeah, new mouse cursor! Kinda cute. The I-beam is straight up and down instead of having top/bottom lines; it's fine I guess.
There are some weird behaviors I don't recall from before; sometimes the cursor changes into a pointer when hovering something clickable which goes against what most desktop OSes have been doing for decades... but feels like the web. Idk if I like it. Tooltips are nice, idk if these showed on hover in Android 13.

So as I suspected, they are actively working on it since Android regressed so much in this area; it looks like they focused on the touch experience above all (which makes sense!), but have as decent round of "desktop" style improvements. This could point to an accessory ecosystem of keyboards, for one...

But on the plus side, I've sideloaded APKs from #GooglePlay, and apps seem to be optimized/work better than they even do on the #PixelTablet. Apps like #Reddit which #MKBHD found to not be properly optimized for the #PixelTablet, work just fine on the #GalaxyTabS5e.

It doesn’t _quite_ feel like the experience you’d expect from something made to work that way, but it even stays attached in my backpack and can stay on the tablet on the Charging Speaker Dock.
I saw some reviews saying the pen was not magnetic, but I think the tablet’s top magnets are just holding onto the internal metal/battery.
