Second try at processing my IC 63 image (left). The previous one (right) had the terrible halo around Navi. This time I used H-alpha data for my luminance during processing. Less halo, more nebulosity. Definitely a better result. #astrophotography #pixinsight
I just woke up from a night of #astrophotography, and it looks like I got some decent images, #Pixinsight is stacking them right now.
And I hate my mount. My GEM28 is constantly having new and fascinating issues. Now the RA axis is in some places so stiff it does not want to turn by hand.
I've reworked the levels a little to get more details on the periphery of the core. This target is incredible and makes my imagination boil... Diameter : 220,000 light-years... is there any other world among these billions of stars?

The North America Nebula, also ✨ NGC 7000 ✨. I captured it about a year ago using DSLR but decided to finally pull the trigger and get the narrowband filters.
These Sulfur-2, Hydrogen-alpha and Oxygen-3 filters allowed me to recreate the Hubble telescope color palette (as seen on the famous Pillars of Creation image).

The nebula at the center of the picture, NGC 2467, called the Skull and Cross-bones, was the pretext (a good one though) to take this picture. But it caught me by surprise the outcome I had with the massive starlfield that accompanies this DSO.

Okay, so this is the #CarinaNebula or #EtaCarinaNebula ( #NGC3372). A stunning, bright nebula near the #SouthernCross. It’s HUGE — larger and brighter than the Orion Nebula but doesn’t get quite as much attention because it’s most visible in the southern hemisphere.
My favourite region is in the bottom right — looks like a ribbon, and it’s beautiful.
This is a 9-panel #Mosaic taken using a #SkyWatcher #ED80 telescope in Ha and Sii, and stitched together with #PixInsight.
Total exposure time is something like 40+ hours.

This PixInsight script looks really promising ! I haven't tried this type of color mask yet but it seems super effective! Adam Block explains it all here : https://youtu.be/6Kg3jfaGgeM and a link to understand how to install a script on PixInsight : https://youtu.be/AgzGrDmbppU

This is my most recent capture from City of Rocks state park in Faywood, NM. IC 410, also known as the Tadpoles Nebula, is about 12,000 light years from Earth. This represents 11 hours and 30 minutes of acquisition spread over three nights under bortle 2 skies but a glaringly bright full moon. #astrophotography #tadpolesnebula #ic410 #cityofrocksstatepark #faywoodnm #zwo #pixinsight

I feel like I have to relearn #pixinsight every time I load it up, but here’s what I captured the other night. Nice easy target because I was testing a new camera (asi 2600mc). I’ve switched back to colour because I lack the time to capture with separate filters and a mono camera. #astrophotography #orion #m42

Orion Nebula is quite dirty/dusty :)
This wasn't my final shot, but it was close to "raw" as a camera would see it and the sheer amount of dust/gas here is mind boggling.
I wanted to "blow out the bright stars" here just to see if i could figure out how to mask/handle the dust. Of course, when you blow out the stars, you lose the trapezium, but you get some new cool detail. Curtains of dust!! Orion is 24 light years across.
