One of the cool things about #JuliaLang package development is how easy you get a working documentation online.
Hear more about it on our next Julia package fundamentals part 3: https://youtu.be/riyaxZfLgXY
es gibt so Tage.
Morgens noch genervt von etwas überstrapazierten Zettelkasten-Modellen.
Kommt ein Tip mit ein paar Namen und Schlagworten angeflogen und schon mittags beste Laune.
Manchmal hilft schriftliches maulen doch weiter :-)

Removed "pkg-provides", a plugin for #FreeBSD "#pkg(8)" command, as it was producing error message about missing functions on 14-CURRENT on "pkg upgrade" command (not explicit use).
As it is still present on a 13-STABLE installation, perhaps error messages were not produced there🤷♂️
I, alas, don't get the luxury of using #netbsd as much as I'd like. Some of that is most certainly down to personal preference, and others are due to the overall slow-pace of change, relative to its cousins #openbsd and #freebsd.
But when I were using #netbsd, I really did love #pkgin (https://pkgin.net/). I did contribute to this many moons ago -- and to this day, it represents the simplicity and thoughtfulness that any package manger should. The #ui is the important thing here -- and #pkgin gets that right, especially for its primary target audience of #netbsd.
I know that #freebsd has #pkg -- which does a very good job, but something always keeps me looking at #pkgin -- even though, I also have code in #pkg.
#openbsd is the real outlier here -- their pkg_* tools are still perl-based, but like the dark horse they are, are maintained well, and really functional.
I've heard it argued that in the #linux world, the different distros keep people apart due to how they handle package management, even as far as to suggest that the programming language is a key factor here.
I say, "eh?", but even then, I'd still gravitate toward *BSD...

You should see the amount of people struggling with #PKG being slow on a #FreeBSD virtual machine.
it could take as long as X times as usual for fetching the smallest of packages... it kind of hangs up for 12 to 15 seconds between pulling packages/dependencies or even responding to pkg update, info or install.
here are a couple of examples:
(none of the solutions seem to be working for me, and I don't know what I'm doing wrong)
- https://unix.stackexchange.com/questions/352441/pkg-slows-down-on-freebsd-installed-on-virtualbox
- https://forums.freebsd.org/threads/pkg-install-very-slow.82533/
It's starting to feel suffocating, but I am not losing hope (yet).
Any suggestions? (or at least let me knw if you are running a FreeBSD vm and do not have this problem)
