Videogame: #PlanescapeTorment. BG series and Owlcat's PF games come close, but PST is the pinnacle of videogames for me.

I don't read many novels based on TTRPGs, but Pathfinder Tales: Hellknight was amazing. The story follows a LG Paladin, LN Hellknight and LE Devil Summoner who adventure together (their alignments are my estimate, the book never gives ingame stats for them). The author really nailed how to make such a disparate group collaborate.

#planescapeTorment update. Okay so now I have a whole little party of mostly chaotic, neutral, chaotic neutral types who are all weirdos of ie kind of another and I can see why people like that. Also the persistent muggings have become an exercise in clicking to insta-murder any red circles that come too close so that’s better.

Picking 5 games is hard. I love great stories, humor, challenging gameplay, good music. Casual, super hard, it doesn't matter.
My all time favorite games all have something in common. They have heart and soul

Have done way too much work this week, so am treating myself to some gaming. I remember being told a few years ago that a colleague enjoyed #PlanescapeTorment - that's what I'm dipping my nose into this afternoon. #gaming #retrogaming

@Ayreonaut kenn ich, ich hab ja auch im Urlaub mit angefangen, und normale Leute machen ja auch eher andere Sachen im Urlaub.
Und selbst im Urlaub kostet es mich Überwindung, mit sowas anzufangen.

Aber es lohnt sich. #DiscoElysium hat gute Chancen, nach zwanzig Jahren #PlanescapeTorment als Das Beste Spiel abzulösen.

35 hours into #DiscoElysium, I'm starting to think there actually isn't any combat.

Which is only consequential, considerung #PlanescapeTorment is listed as an inspiration for it. How many enemies did you actually have to fight in that game? I *think* you couldn't avoid fighting Ravel and Trias. Neither of who were the main antagonist, mind.

oh just as a reminder, #PlanescapeTorment is, naturally, The Best Game There Is.

So I've been playing #DiscoElysium for a few hours now and I thought to myself "hey this game kinda reminds me of #PlanescapeTorment", it's very text heavy and the wordy style is somewhat similar.

And guess what I find when I go to google to check what its score is like ...

Since all the streaming services seem to be in an experimental mood right now ... Has anyone secured the rights to a #PlanescapeTorment series yet?

well okay, the Lady of Pain is not original to #PlanescapeTorment, but to the AD&D Planescape setting, which probably came out around the same time as #Hyperion.
