Book 69 Atlas Alone (Planetfall 4) by Emma Newman.

Excellent read. The trademark intelligent story line, eerily possible future society, attention to detail, exploration of psychology and trauma, but more action packed than the other books in the series.

Book 66 After Atlas by Emma Newman (Planetfall 02).

This was an incredible read. It was captivating and terrifying.

Like all good SF it describes a future society that is very realistic. It doesn't require a lot of imagination to see that future come about, which makes it rather frightening.

If you're not a big fan of SF that's all right. The book is also a pretty decent detective story and an interesting piece of psychological fiction.

Sci-fi: Emma Newman's excellent #Planetfall series;
Fantasy: @naominovik 's just-completed #Scholomance series; Real history: Hero of Two Worlds, by Mike Duncan, a bio of the Marquis de Lafayette; for nature, Lab Girl by Hope Jahren, and I'm of no use at all in astronomy, comics, or manga, but I'll be keenly interested to see what the timeline kicks out in those genres/formats.

@ginevra @jsoriano this take on solarpunk being in the mix really resonates with me. A comparative movement or society going on to contrast with a more #cyberpunk one. The cold war settings that birthed the genre often had comparative glances at Russia and their brand of communism for better or worse as an example. Solarpunk makes an interesting replacement. Thinking about Emma Newman's #Planetfall book series, elements of it could almost be seen as #Solarpunk, only under a religious cult.

@janice_e_ I grew up with #infocom style games like #zork #planetfall and #suspended and I love them dearly. I had always hoped for a revival in this format, the way 8-bit retro games have made a comeback. There was something powerful about games that really engaged your imagination the way these did.
