In the decades past, 1950's onward, this was known as Planned Obsolescence.
It was a curious phrase that became acceptable among the corporate marketing people as though it was a survival technique.
That's "good capitalism" to them that "have".
It became Hellish capitalism & fascism over time when it started being noticed by people of the Great depression & WWII generation.
It has grown into a "crack" of commerce addiction that is now insatiable & apparently beyond help.😡🤬

“ESA’s Navigation Directorate is planning a new satellite whose results will enable the generation of an updated global model of Earth – the International Terrestrial Reference Frame, employed for everything from land surveying to measuring sea level rise – with an accuracy down to 1 mm, while tracking ground motion of just 0.1 mm per year. This improvement, at a stroke, will have a major impact in multiple Navigation and Earth Science applications, including an enhancement on the precision of the Galileo navigation system. This mission, called GENESIS, is being proposed to ESA’s Council of Ministers in November 2022…”

What my father-in-law used to call ‘a ball of fluff’: Paused briefly en route in Thame High Street one weekend. The lanes/entries on the S side of the street all have this LH-angled turn which the Ordnance Survey map and VCH Oxfordshire (vol 7) confirm are #medieval burgage plots probably laid out in the 12thC over former open field strips, with their characteristic backward S curve, when the #planned #town of New Thame was founded.

Learning languages, including programming languages, is my personal hell - unfortunately. Nevertheless, I will now try to learn #IDO. I think a universal #planned language is more suitable as a world language than the current cultural interlocks.
Why not #esperanto? It's too elitist and complicated for me.
