Late #introduction. I’m Jonathan. I’ve been a practicing city planner for 16+ years in #LosAngeles, California. My experience spans the public, private, & nonprofit sectors.

Working on the ground in South Central LA, I created #EmbeddedPlanning praxis. In this approach, planners move with intention to push their work to the street-level.

I’m also an adjunct Lecturer in #UrbanPlanning at California Polytechnic State University, Pomona.

I am associate professor at Universidad Politécnica de Madrid. My work sits at the intersection of #urbantheory, #criticalgeography and #planninghistory. I'm interested in the history of spatial struggles around the #commons and the nexus of urban processes and political economy more generally.
