Gardening friends, do you have a good alternative for plastic plant labels? I switched to wooden lolly sticks in the hope of using something a bit more sustainable, but they are illegible if they get wet (when labelled in permanent marker or pencil). I tend to go through a lot of them, so I want to keep them cost effective. Suggestions gratefully received. #PlantLabels #Gardening #GardeningGoals

One challenge I face as a gardener who easily forgets what she planted where is how to make plant plant labels that last. Without stakes and labels that are readable and easy to find, I have no idea where i should expect annuals and returning perennials to be showing up in the spring.

The problem is two-fold: 1) Finding plastic stakes that can withstand summer heat/winter cold and 2) Finding markers with ink that doesn't fade quickly.
