Morning glory Grandpa Otts: this electric beauty surprises me every morning as its trumpets open at different places on the vine. I managed to keep the slugs off (garlic spray!) when they were babies, so now about a dozen plants are climbing through the August garden. Each flower opens for just one day. But what a day.

Marsh Blazing Star out back by the woods is starting to bloom.

They bloom from the top down.
I planted one this year. We'll see how it goes. I have a few Prairie Blazing Star and they are starting to bloom as well.

They are about 3 feet high.

Did I bring this plant home from growing by the creek bank in a construction area?
Okay, fine. Yes I did. And I'd do it again!

Hi fedi, I'm looking for help with a #gardening issue. My poblano plant started with an aphid infestation, and I've treated it multiple times with neem oil, but now the infestation has spread to neighboring plants. I found out by way of ants crawling around, and saw a ladybug on it this evening, so there's enough for them to feed too I guess.

Both plants look a little wilty in terms of the leaves. My poblano has barely fruited and the one tiny one it produced so far tasted awful.

What's the next treatment step for the aphids besides neem oil? I can try and treat over and over more but I don't think it's helping now :< It doesn't help that it's been very rainy lately. #plantstodon #Bloomscrolling #Garden #homegrown

Googling potato maturation time (seeing the leaves on my potatoes turning yellow at the bottom [normal] and red at the tips [normal?]) and stumbled across a very wholesome reddit thread where people are learning that you can just slam a potato into the ground and get a lot more potatoes.

I found out recently that adding mint to my morning smoothies was a next level taste sensation. So to support my new mint habit I'm trying to grow it rather than buy the pitiful shreds cut off some other plant. I set the pot with a newly planted mint in the sun and was struck by how beautiful it is. Thank you sun.
