Something I'm doing for story reasons. Since sprites this small don't convey emotion very well, I'm gonna use little emote popups to help convey emotions!

Here's the UI so far for #KoboldKwest!
Out of a desire to maximize center screen space, UI elements are limited to the corners of the screen and use large bars so they're easy to see at a glance.
Top left is HP, top right is Gold, bottom left is currwnt skill (WIP) and bottom right is current weapon/attacks.

I'm having so much fun making #KoboldKwest for the #Playdate that I almost want to try and build it in Unity, just to make it playable on other platforns.
That might be a challenge to tackle once the Playdate version is finished.

Then there are the simple tools that everyone uses.
Discord for team chats.
Git for source control & issue tracking.
Notion for documentation.
It's working well.
Playdate projects often tend to not get finished.
Making games is hard!
And it seems rhythm games are tough in a special way. I've seen a few prototypes have popped up but as of now, there are still none of the platform.
If the first one was built in Pulp, that would be awesome!

It was a joy going back and forth with Kyle to remake these tracks, and while he was in the grove he made a few more.
Well, before the game moved to the full Playdate SDK Kyle already tried his hand at remaking some tracks in full fidelity to see what they sounded like.
So when I reached out last year to formally request we rebuild them, he was excited to jump in.
I really fell in love with the notes 24 seconds in! 😍
They still feel magical.
All of this out of Pulp's sound tools.
In the end he made 9 tracks for the game in the span of about 10 days.
☄Comet Music
In February of 2022, I had been posting development pictures of Comet on the Playdate Squad Discord server and a guy named Triple / Kyle McAuliffe saw my work and offered to make music for Pulp.

Thankfully, @drewlo got these working in game really quickly!
Now we just place down these entities in LDtk and BOOM.
