@shengokai Don't know it the thread is open or one of the ones in which I would be accused of being "yt...butting in" so I will use this version of a quote tweet just to point out that, after listening to Jonathan's podcast last night and reading some of his stuff here, it seems like there is a form of #elitism creeping into the discussion between black intellectuals, eg., do we really need to relate to the social media dynamic in terms of #EdmundHusserl? It's over-intellectualizing and in that sense regressive.
Also, a lot of his points are strained. I grew up in a predominantly black hood and #playingthedozens was part of that. It escapes me how J thinks that twitter enabled that (as an "affordance") and Mastodon somehow does not. Also, equating ironic "gotcha" quote tweets with "call and response" is really strained
That said, his thoughts are some of the.most.intriguing on Mastodon and I don't know that he is one of the commentators who are specifically kicking white people off their reply threads. But I have lost track now so am putting this comment in its own thread. FYI yes I got called "N-word" twice in one dogpile after expressing support, even though I am not black. Not at all sure where the antifascist alliance is going with all the nationalism and isolationism among different groups here on Mastodon but the trolls are likely finding it all rather amusing.
