The #GOG Galaxy app integrations with other digital storefronts seems to be a failed experiment. It's never worked well - constantly logged me out, or even failed to log in in the first place.
I probably need to give #Playnite another go. My big problem with that app is that it didn't consolidate entries for games owned on multiple storefronts. I created a support ticket once, and I don't think they really appreciated what I was asking for, which kind of soured me on it as well.
Maintaining my own game library through Playnite is a lot of work, but it makes it easy to keep tabs on unreleased games.
Including metadata like links to developer blogs or social media accounts lets me check in on them every once in a while when I'm stopping by to play existing releases.
For example, my entry for Gran Ende: Saga includes some art to make it recognizable + links I can check for updates.
I use #Playnite as my one-stop game library.
So I launch StarWars:Squadrons, which runs Epic store, which runs EA store, which runs the game, which runs SteamVR, which runs Steam.
It's remarkable that these tall stacks of software can run with some semblance of reliability.
Good Morning Fediverse, wanted to post a lil fun thing for today that might help peeps! For those struggling with all the Launchers on PC Nowadays, I cannot recommned the Open Source Playnite Project Enough!
Syncs EVERYTHING together, lets you setup the library and metadata however you want and it just works really well, genuinely couldn't fault it if you have games all over the place! Even tracks playtime and such for non launcher games!
Working on some additions to my mods of Playnite theme Hero.

I set up a script in #Playnite to back up my PS2 save data when I close games in case something corrupts. I might lose a couple hours but at least I won't lose the whole thing x-x
Might set it up for other platforms later, but we'll see
Finally transitioned From GeForce Experience to #Sunshine to power my #Moonlight gamestreaming to my Nvidia Shield TV.
It's decent. I do miss the auto-adding of games to the list in Moonlight, though. Luckily, jumping straight into #Playnite solves that issue 90% of the time.
Then there are games like Final Fantasy XIII where you can't quit the game with a gamepad, and you need Sunshine to force-quit it for you. Those need to be programmed into the list by hand.

Making some further changes to Playnite. Just minor things right now.

So I’ve been testing #PlayNite to manage all my #videoGame stores which is making life a little easier in finding what I have. I set it up with an #achievement tracker, and tested that out today with some 25 minute click game hahaha. Well at least it’s a #game I would complete hahaha. Anyone else use this? Now if only achievements would unlock across platform 😂.

Adding web games to Playnite
Like any sensible Windows user with a hoard of different competing games store launchers, emulated games and manually installed games littering his hard drive, I use Playnite. Which is probably the best integrated games launcher there is. It can import just about anything, some things require a bit of configuring. I don't play many web games, but those I do occasional

Been working on this Playnite game launcher theme for a while now. It's just mods of the Hero theme so I don't deserve much credit.

I generally don't want to hack on devs, but I genuinely don't understand WTF is going on at Epic.
They keep shipping new features on an app that is so excruciatingly awful in terms of performance that I refuse to buy #games from Epic even when it's a bargain.
I've even *bought* games on Steam that I got free on Epic because the launcher is such a clusterf...omnishambles.
I can't help but wonder if it's the reason they continued to give away free games after the rumour that it was only meant to be for a year. That and exclusivity.
I want THPS1+2, but it's only on EGS, so unless there's some spectacular deal, no. Spider-man was exclusive... I waited until it was released on Steam.
However, I have started exploring #Playnite as the one launcher to rule them all. I like GOG Galaxy aesthetically, but performance-wise it's close to Epic :(
