Good Morning, @thfr, do you know, if I can #PlayOnBSD the demo?
Thanks for destroying productivity.
Hey #PlayOnBSD users,
Do you run native games on #OpenBSD or is this about running Cloud-based gaming?
What hardware do you use? Like, does this apply to Intel HD chips found in ThinkPads or do you need tougher stuff like Radeon?
Thanks.
RTS game Northgard released an expansion "Cross of Vidgar" with a new campaign last month. This can run on #OpenBSD, but will need an update to most recent hashlink, as well as a port of hlvideo which is mostly ready to soon show up on ports@. More stuff to #PlayOnBSD
Another LibGDX game is possible on OpenBSD, with a little more involvement - Space Haven. Needs an update to the libgdx/1.9.11 port to also build gdx-controller-lwjgl3, and I had to run it with JDK 17 instead of 1.8.0. #PlayOnBSD
... and Stardash - this one would be a solid reason to fix the missing gamecontroller/ujoy support with libgdx on OpenBSD...
#PlayOnBSD
FYI the games that I'm getting to run are all from the big Orangepixel winter sale bundle on itch.io: https://itch.io/s/84130/orangepixel-and-itchio-winter-sale
In other #PlayOnBSD news, I'm making some progress on the fancier runner for indie games called, well, IndieRunner. I added an option to record your game time with Steam via steamctl: https://github.com/IndieRunner/IndieRunner/commit/03d344f33aa0ffd8f4a70a3969c5a638bdf6822e
New game running on #OpenBSD - Delver, a rogue-like, pixel 3D dungeon crawler. It's built with libgdx 1.9.9 and needed some more refining of https://github.com/IndieRunner/IndieRunner, but now it works!
