Just a reminder that I have a “no-boost” policy on toots with non-captioned images. Not that I think im important or in any shape or form an “influencer”, but I only want to spread content through the #Fediverse if it’s accessible to all.

However, I appreciate those who are low on spoons may not be able to, but I hope you can appreciate my position. I may give you a cheeky fave if it’s otherwise good content, though. 😉

I can answer that. Boosts are sent as-is, with alt text if they have it or without if they don't.

The #PleaseCaption Bot responds for boosts, so if you have trouble seeing what has alt text on it, you can check toots by boosting them.

For anyone who has joined recently, urbanists.social is pretty dedicated to being welcoming. Therefore for accessibility reasons please:

1) use alt-text on your photos (it's under the edit option)
1a) this applies to gifs too (@tf has some great examples of this)

2) use CamelCase so that it's easier to distinguish between words

3) put your hashtags at the end, not in the body of the text

Yes! Also too middle aged and woolly-brained to remember to do this a lot of the time. I read a post on here from an audio-described user politely requesting that we all remember to put descriptions on.
