Agreed! It also looks to this absolutely-not-a-lawyer layperson like a violation of the equal protection clause. How come taxpayers inside of motor vehicles are entitled to right-of-ways cleared at public expense, while taxpayers outside of motor vehicles are not?

Can officials stop saying "travel ban" when they mean "driving ban?"
Lots of us are perfectly capable of doing errands on foot when driving conditions are hazardous.

I marvel at the way we equate "reliable transportation" with automobile ownership. I walk to work in the winter & lemme tell you, my feet are way more reliable than a car. They never need to be towed, they do not run out of gas, they are not subject to "travel" (driving) bans or traffic jams.
