Und dann wären noch die „Victoria“ Zwetschgen. Wohl eine neuere Züchtung. Grosse, pralle, eher violett als dunkelblau. Sehr süss und saftig, leider dies Jahr sehr wurmstichig. Wird wohl vorallem Konfitüre geben.

Beim Gang über die Weiden um den Zaun zu kontrollieren - heute Morgen früh galoppierte einer unserer kleinsten Ponywallache auf der Strasse rum! - entdeckte ich, dass erfreulicherweise die Zwetschgen in der Hoschtett bald reif sind.
Hier zuerst eine „Bühler Frühzwetschge“, meine liebsten. Klein, aber sehr schmackhaft. Ob frisch, als Fruchtkuchen, Konfitüre oder gedörrt ist sie immer ein Genuss.

Eat your plums & have tea, too!

1. Stem, pit, & quarter 4 plums.
2. Put in pot with 1 cup each of water & sugar, bring to boil, take off heat, let sit 20 min.
3. Let the purple syrup cool. Pass the time by eating the sugared plums on fruit salad, granola, etc
4. Fill 1/3 of a pitcher with ice & syrup, fill the rest of the pitcher with your favorite iced tea.

I love this recipe because it's a drink & a snack, with minimal effort!
