Ich war viele Jahre komplett ohne Social Media. Vor vielen Jahren hatte ich einen Facebook Account. Den habe ich irgendwann gelöscht weil der FB Algorithmus es schafft das schlechteste in mir zum Vorschein zu bringen. Vor einiger Zeit dann zu Twitter. Sobald klar war dass Musk übernimmt habe ich das Konto zur Löschung eingestellt. Seitdem Mastodon.

@Octavia Ah... Il y aura toujours des gens maladroits qui essaient de bien faire et d'autres qui ont du mal à ne pas prendre les choses de façon perso (à côté de ça je suis d'accord qu'il y en a tj qui veulent montrer qui saches mieux que les autres...)

I think I need to really get back and revisit the #Plume database thing. I’ve discovered when I have write errors because SQLite does one thing at a time, I manage to break the whole post and it doesn’t show on the homepage.

A new #Plume server has discovered mine, but since I’m having a weird database issue it means when I try to post I risk breaking my entry. So just got to wait for it to get my 7k articles

@ring2 @w0dz @taco @matt Yeah. right now its literally imited to being able to follow and boost WF posts. If you really want the interaction #Plume accounts and their posts can be interacted with just like any other AP post. However, while I see checkins going on in their github the last "release" was over a year ago, so I wouldn't consider it as "actively" maintained.

1) you may still be able to run #plume, but I think it might not be getting fixes. (Does that matter???)

2) i use writefreely; it is relatively easy to set up, and is under active development, but (last time I checked) has NO comment facility, and it can be a bit laborious to create tables-of-contents/indexes, or add images. It has no search but does have simple hashtags.
Other features are promised ...

So I've run in to a slight issue, I need to move #Plume from a SQLite3 database to MySQL. Good job I installed Plume on a dedicated machine https://w8.sus.fr/tag/Plume

These 11 days of my home internet being down is murder to my creativity since I can't use my #Plume instance.

So I've spun up a backup WriteFreely blog for this kind of occasion so I can write now, then feed back into Plume when my internet isn't restricted

@jupiter_rowland @fediversenews I don't think that is a fair assessment of Plume. Yes, there is the spam problem but there are things happening in the dev side to fix it, albeit a bit slowly.

Buggy, yes sometimes but I've run my instance for a couple years with no major problems other than the physical hardware it was sat on.

Because I'm a good Christian I've finally started to do proper backups of the #Plume install. I'm getting the first one under way so there is some connection struggle right now, but rolling on at least it'll only ping over the new or modified files
