Anyone know of an #openSource #wifiCalling dialler app for #android ?
My network (#plusnet) shut down and I've moved to #idMobile who resell #ThreeMobileNetwork which has rubbish reception. They say enable wifi-calling which is available in Samsung Phone app but I'm pretty sure tells Samsung about every call I make.
Until needing this feature I've used Simple Dialler from #fDroid which is good but doesn't support wifi calling

Interesting coded update to #Plusnet mobile’s iOS app. Why not just make it clear that you’re closing down soon and all customers are due to move to sister company EE?!

My broadband provider announced they are going to put up their prices by CPI + 3.9%. This works out at about 14%. Their justification is increased costs of energy, cost of living, etc.
I wonder if staff of #plusnet are getting a CPI linked pay increase to match the increases in household costs?
Just upgraded my mother’s #PlusNet router to a new #HubTwo. Was a faff, plugged it in and it connected ok but when I connected to it on my phone it had a default username not hers so couldn’t access anything.
Googled it and the fix that came up wouldn’t work so I restarted it without the cable plugged into the line and then plugged it into the line and maybe restarted it again and all was then fine.
The admin settings are crap, can’t have a different SSD or password for the two bands. #Downgrade
@spytfyre@mastadon.
#Fediverse. Finally after 10 days of make do and mend I now have a secure wifi/broadband connection. Tek from #PlusNet was talked through a router reset from his #sysadmin. An upgrade is on its way. #Rule1 Enthusiastic amateurs (my landlord) can bugger any system through lack of sense, whilst trying to save a penny. He is as rich as Croesus!scot

Suffering intermittent cut out of all broadband services. My WiFi network performing perfectly. Their router showing a fault. Service status page saying no issues. No internet coming in to the router.
#plusnet doesn't offer any support outside 08:30-19:00. Our line has gone down this evening and even the Diagnostic bot has a sleep.
This is crap. I'd just ordered full fibre from them, but I'm not sure I can trust them anymore.
Hmm. A bit weird. Tried to sign up with #NowBroadband but it crashes out when I put my mobile in with a "something went wrong; please call us" message. Tried #SkyBroadband instead (I know, same company); I get a technical error message after first form.
Is there a problem at Sky just as I'm trying to switch providers, or something weird about my mobile number that might cause an issue? I really do not want to call them.
Will try again tomorrow, but otherwise might have to go back to #Plusnet.

Good morning.
The Broadband Saga may be over.
It could be a fluke, but after a call to #PlusNet yesterday, who claimed an #OpenReach engineer would have to come out *again* of Friday, our BB spead has magically gone up again from 20 Mbps to 72 Mbps.
So the ISP Plusnet based in the UK sets your username in the PTR record if you have a static IP address. Is this really a good idea? It allows for potentially easy identification of someone from just their IP address. I also imagine it could be used to generate a username list for password spraying. Surely there are better alternatives?
So my #plusnet broadband went dead after midnight and refused to reconnect, DSL light was still on via the BT Modem, Power Cycled and it was still dead, 4 reboots of the router later and successful handshake finally.
