The whole VC investor class enthusiasm is to realize their dream of chaining nations and republics to their will. The distributed ledger has uses, but the idea of a resource limted currency demonstrates a level of destructive economic ignorance bordering on insanity

There is only so far that wealth #inequality can expand before it becomes clear that there is a greater risk of #tyranny from the wealthy than there ever was from the #elected #government. I can fire my government every couple of years, but #billionaires are harder to get rid of. At least early modern aristocracy had expectations about their moral conduct. #Neoliberalism is cancer and a #fallacy. It is #plutocratic tyranny.

Google’s newish #ml model #infiniteNature-zero looks interesting - generating consistent 3D video scenes of landscape from ‘a single 2d image.’ Slightly misleading as the #machineHallucination is inferentially derived from its training set. They conclude “Our work points towards future algorithms that can generate complete, photorealistic, and consistent 3D worlds.” Inevitably, if these sorts of #algorithms form #softwarePatents, then the so-called #metaverse is going to be a #nasty #expensive #plutocratic #panopticon.
