Work has begun on the #development tool for #AbyssalLinux. You may notice that there are two branches. One with #Python and one with #Rust. This is because I am prototyping in Rust and then considering moving to Python once the proper defaults are determined.

Yes. This is extremely inspired by #postmarketOS #pmbootstrap

adding a new "flash_all" function to #pmbootstrap flasher, as well as the ability to pass in arbitrary additional fastboot commands. this will simplify installation slightly as you'll be able to do:
pmbootstrap flasher flash_all erase dtbo reboot
to flash the kernel & rootfs, erase the dtbo partition and reboot into #postmarketOS
@tobtobxx @linmob I will always prefer just making a proper APKBUILD for it and use the distro's proper cross-compiling tools. Way less hassle and then you even have your package manager tracking it. #pmbootstrap and Alpine's rootbld both allow this, although the former doesn't like Rust very much (yet)
@anjan I've reinstalled #sxmo on my pinephone by using
#pmbootstrap. I really like the progress and hard work that all of you have
done. #swmo #sway (wayland) really works great. Thanks! :)

@tzafrir As long as pmbootstrap has access to the right directories and devices, it should be alright. It's #pmbootstrap btw, not pmdebootstrap 😜
Note that the Nexus 5 GPU driver is quite unstable so you'll probably experience a lot of GUI crashes
Latest updates on #postmarketos edge killed my pinephone. Loading Screen to death nothing happens. I cant remember the new packages but they are some of the main ones. wlroot failed to upgrade and got purged.
Seems like I had to #pmbootstrap again.
Today #alpineconf has started, which will feature 4 #postmarketOS related talks. In 15 minutes ollieparanoid will start talking about #pmbootstrap, our swiss army knife to postmarketOS development.
Head on over to https://alpinelinux.org/conf/ and come watch!

(Additionally I installed #pmbootstrap during that time, built my first APKBUILD (for Notorious by @gabmus) on the Librem5 and installed it using apk add --allow-untrusted.)
I can't get #pmbootstrap to flash a newer kernel to my bq-paella. I guess this might be the problem I am having, and I don't know how to work around it: https://gitlab.com/postmarketOS/pmbootstrap/-/issues/2007 #postmarketOS
Yes, #sxmo is installed on the eMMC of my #pinephone.
I've first installed #postmarketos (without a ui) on the eMMC of my pinephone using #pmbootstrap and #jumpdrive. Then, I've followed the instructions at https://git.sr.ht/~mil/sxmo-docs/tree/master/INSTALLGUIDE.md to install #sxmo on top of it.
I've also altered /etc/fstab, so my /home is on a SD card.
