If you can't walk barefoot bc the pavement is too hot, neither should your dog. Be aware of what hot pavement will do to their paws. Walking on hot pavement can cause blistering/bleeding/burning! SO painful for them!!! A few ways to help prevent this: walk EARLY in the morning and later in the evening, walk on the grass (not dry dead grass, it can be hot and painful when poking their paws) or walk in the shade.

Ripley found her first truffle!!!!! I am SO PROUD! I’ve been doing nose work with her since she was a pup but never really had any practical application for it. I don’t even like truffles. But it’s fun to have a job for her when we’re out adventuring in the woods. I bought an oregon black truffle yesterday, did about 15 minutes of work with her last night, and then just put her treats in with the bag the truffle came in.

It’s small, and it was only one, but I can’t wait to explore with her more! I’m so excited it’s stupid. All those years of playing “find it” paid off!
