Part of today’s clearing project was to remove invasive hawthorn, blackberry, and rose from between these Oregon ash, leaving the Oregon grape and snowberry. This is about a 3-year growth of bramble. See reply for the after.
Huge canes of #invasive #blackberry growing in the trunk of a decrepit Oregon ash. It got this bad because the decades-old, impenetrable #bramble was finally brushhogged last summer.
All cleaned up now. The #EmeraldAshBorer was found in Oregon last year, so who knows what is in store for the ash trees.
