Potluck is my cat
Potluck shuffles through snow
paw scrapes a place to set his next foot,
steps, and does this again.
After 10 minutes, he is ready for the house again.
Potluck asks the door open,
and I respond.
This time, less fearful of
his body sink into white powder
He explores.
Climbs tree, rests upon frozen fish pond
At his return, rests on the table next to me
I ask him to step on my keyboard,
for internet clout, and a funny post
He does.

I was a soldier
learnt skill of rifle stock
blood and broken bodies
when I tell people this, they name me
Hero, Champion, Idol
They say, "Thank you for your service"
I was a whore
learnt skill of body's music
pleasure and appealing posture
when I tell people this, they name me
whore, bitch, sinner
They say, "you deserve violence upon you"
Where has our society fallen,
Where slaughter, and pleasure,
are rewarded like this?

willingly walk through that door
to captivity
to cared for by master.
How much comfort can they offer you?
until their brutality of another,
their slavers ways,
make you sit for breakfast?
tongue out and eager
for todays lesson.
Gold stars for good behavior.
