are simply any phrase, rhyming or not, which has exactly 17 syllables.

They don't have to be deep or philosophical or even serious. can be fun. My favorite writer is (aka "Biff" in the franchise). He has such humorous gems as:

"Life matches on, faster and faster,
But the fact is you can't rush toast."

"Danny Bonaduce
prob'ly wouldn't make a good babysitter."

" ordered ribs every week
He had to know they'd tip his car."
