@ChrisPirillo And now #pogs are back, in #emote form! The expression #Pog, #poggers, #PogChamp, or #PogChampion is used to show excitement.
It was coined in 2011 by #Twitch Streamer Ryan "Gootex" Gutierrez, when he won a game of Pogs on stream. He made the PogChamp emote, a picture of his face, surprised when a cameraperson knocked over his tripod on his #YouTube series Counter Cross TV in 2010.
The emote was so popular, Twitch added it as one of their global emotes. Its use spread on Twitch and #Discord before and especially during the 2020 #Covid pandemic, when kids stuck at home used the services to communicate with friends. It also became a #backronym for #PlayOftheGame due to faulty etymology.
As the expression's use grew, the emote itself fell out of favor. On January 6, 2021, #Gootex tweeted in support of the #January6thinsurrection, calling Ashli Babbit, who died in the riot, a "#MAGAmartyr." Twitch responded by removing the PogChamp emote and holding a contest to find a successor.

Just ordered some e-juice called POG = Peach, Orange Guava. Would the #Twitch streamers out there consider such a thing #poggers?

You know a term is out of vogue with the kids when it shows up in a Lexus commercial. Don't sound like a boomer. #poggers
I have no emotes yet I must poggers.
