Oh, just for the record, I feel absolutely no guilt for bombarding the twittersphere with #PolarPride content today! For almost a century of Polar research and exploration the #LGBTQIA+ community were either not allowed to work in the polar regions or had to hide it!

November 18th is #PolarPride. It has grown into a huge colourful celebration of the diversity of perspectives, LGBTQIA+ colleagues bring to Polar Research. But it is also a reminder how much discrimination, homophobia and transphobia they still experience.
We need to ensure that we listen to them to build a safer, more inclusive polar research community.
