The odd thing about the modern metal scene is how so many boring bands get hyped. Then there are a some super-talented bands getting no fanfare.

To some extent it has always been the case, but I don't see why #Polemicist from #Portland have so few people talking about them.

Now, I didn't like their first album much, but their second one "Return of the Sophist" (2021) is awesome (and innovative). Song-driven, melody-driven black/death metal.
