An elegiac picture; the Lubomirski Palace was bombed during the Nazi invasion of Poland in September of 1939, and if you look close, you can see a trio of Nazi soldiers standing in front of the ruins. The setting sun and overcast sky add to the mournfulness here.

A bizarre, dreamlike image, which marked a turning point in the painter's career, launching him into what has been described as "fantastic realism." Interpretations abound, but he has steadfastly refused to explain anything going on here or in his other works. He doesn't even title them.

I love, love drawing trees, they have amazing organic shapes with beautiful textures, and some look like have literal faces.
