This analysis of how politicians talked about Brexit suggests that a great deal of uncertainty underlies their positions. But I’d suggest that verbal tentativeness on the Remain side in the examples from 2018 reflects the intimidating atmosphere created by aggressive Brexiters. They bullied their way to victory.

This book doesn't teach you to be a cold reader. It's not necessarily a flaw; you can read it to learn how to understand and recognize when #ColdReading techniques are being directed at you.

I suspect that there's some sort of overlap between cold reading techniques and the strategies of #PoliticalDiscourse in the USA that plays to ignorance of concepts such as "verification" and "fact."

No the plaform is not the issue at all. The entire point of using ActivityPub is that you can tailor your experience exactly as you want it.

Those who complain need to make use of the filters-feature on their service to hide the content they don't want to see, either completely or behind CW. And then folks engaging in #Politics and #PoliticalDiscourse just need to tag their posts as such. Problem solved for all parties.

Tagging posts correctly matter.
