Regardless of the fate of Twitter, I think it is important to proliferate sites of discussion. I'm looking forward to connecting with familiar people and new ones. I am an academic. My work emerges from the history of political thought, but I give special attention to American and African American political thought and its relationship to the meaning and fate of democracy. I see in the philosophical past resources for understanding and grappling with contemporary problems related to anti-blackness, freedom, and equality.
