Judging by Emma Best's attire, the BBC must have turned the thermostat down.
Surprise! Andrew Boff fails to mention TfL's loss of £700m a year in govt grants under Johnson, or that TFL made great strides in reducing its deficit prior to Covid. Instead, to undermine Khan, the Tories have weaponised reduced revenues from fewer passengers.
No other major transport system is so reliant on ticket sales for funding. Passenger numbers plunged when TfL enforced the govt's Covid restrictions, decimating income. Then Conservatives like Andrew Biff accused Sadiq Khan of financial mismanagement. A total lie. #politicslondon
"Bob Blackman got a pay rise without any productivity increase. All the MPs did. That's the problem. There isn't a pay rise on offer. There's only a pay rise on offer 'with conditions'." — Christian Woolmer
And that's the way this government of bullies operates.
Julian Jessop – director of the anonymously funded, neoliberal think tank, the Institute of Economic Affairs – invited on to #politicslondon to talk about the massive presence of Qatari money in London. Why? Unsurprisingly, he's a huge fan.
Doesn't care for polite criticism...
A cracking tune with an important message.
