It's explicit (obvious) that richer people have far more social influence in a relatively rich #capitalist #economy . Ecological degradation is positively correlated (generally caused by) with a profit incentive. Neoliberal #politicians express this when they reveal their underlying agendas by saying it costs too much money to not #pollute the environment.

To mitigate #ClimateChange society will need to undergo a rapid transformation in social norms & environmental values.

More safe, efficient #publictransport is needed, especially in cities, to reduce car ownership to a necessity (living in the countryside, transporting disabled dependents) rather than a convenience. It is hard to do, but walking to the bus is the way to go.
