Polyamorists, please help! What’s a good term for the child of your poly partner who is not your child, but for whom you play an important grownup role? Constantly saying “my girlfriend’s daughter” or “my partner’s son by another marriage” isn’t working!

I think the right term is “meta-nephew” or “meta-niece”, with the adult being a “meta-uncle” or “meta-aunt”. Does anyone have some better words? Maybe less gendered words?
