Full haul from the #polytunnel #allotment plot. Including some ridiculous outdoor beetroot, not sure if they'll be any good. Just not had time to deal with them and a couple of the white ones have sent up flower stalks. Also some chard "bright lights" and leaves from the Malabar Spinach.
I don't think I've shown off our chonker #allotment #polytunnel capsicums yet, or "peppers" of you prefer. There are loads more on the plants, mostly green, but we use more green capsicum than red anyway. Our main capsicum uses are making gumbo and black bean stir fries, both of which use green caps.
Oh my...
No new harvesting today, this is the accumulation of about 10 days of #allotment and #homegarden harvests which we are struggling to either eat or process. Time soon to make a big passata. The #polytunnel is churning out tomatoes, with some assistance from the Bogalow #greenhouse.

The Big Black Mama are rated a mere 1 million scoville.
It's not the only super-hot we have on the go. The fruitful plant
pictured is a Wraith - also rated at 1 million. The fruit look so friendly and innocuous.
We also have a Naga Morich in the #allotment #polytunnel but it's only just starting to sett fruit, not worthy of a photo. This is also rated 1 million scoville and is a parent of both the other super-hots previously mentioned.

Over on the #polytunnel #allotment plot Kat is giving everything a good deep watering. I have chop-n-dropped a pile of lower tomato foliage to improve airflow and hopefully also ripening. Hoping the "drop" improves soil moisture retention a little. The plants are looking OK all things considered, and with some heat, light, and a hopeful lack of blight we should see a decent crop.
There are some mahoosive cherry tomato trusses, just starting to ripen now. 🤞🤞🤞
I grew this monster! This multi-lobed giant — perhaps 4-5 fused tomatoes? — weighs 599g / 21.15oz 😯 . Variety is Northern Lights (very tasty type with a short shelf life, so pick and turn into a caprese quickly…). I love the colouring on this variety #tomato #gardening #polytunnel

Other things coming along well in the #allotment #polytunnel. Tomatoes round and taut, capsicums gettin' swol... and check out the cute "Bishop's Crown" chilli!

Any tips for getting rid of ants in a polytunnel? Keeping it well watered doesn't seem to be helping. Too many to ignore... 🐜🐜🐜

Think this tomato plant in the #allotment #polytunnel is to be sent into quarantine, and then it's body detroyed in a fire. Not a happy camper for reasons unknown.
Other tomatoes looking chipper!
On the #polytunnel plot it was mainly Kat watering All The Things.
We did also manage a small bit of infrastructure work with the second IBC moved into place on top of the first, plus we have popped a table salvaged from the pub in here as a workbench.
We also got those tomatoes and chillies planted this in the #allotment #polytunnel this evening, with their strings in.
Fact: for every 10 plants I plant I forget to put the string in at least once. Sometimes twice! One time three times! I suspect early onset dementia 😔
Trying something new this year: a tomato-friend mycelial addition... which we have applied to chillies too. Haven't bothered with things like controls/etc so it's more faith than science. Believe in the 'shrooms.
Status: making 30 more plant support strings for the #allotment #polytunnel
As usual not near enough achieved today. (As compared to what one hoped to achieve...)
All the same, nice to have things planted out in the #allotmemt #polytunnel — about 50% planted and the main reason for not being 100% was we forgot to have enough strings pre-cut & tied. 🤦 So half the plants are in their pots still, but popped into prepared planting holes.
The pumpkin/etc patch didn't even get a look-in. Hopefully find some time during the week, the longer evenings are made for this...
